I’ve been typing for years, mostly just doing my own thing but I never really learned proper touch typing. I use a Remington Noiseless and decided it’s time to get serious about improving my technique. It’s been tough breaking old habits, especially when it comes to using my pinky fingers. If anyone has tips for building better muscle memory or making the layout more comfortable, I’d really appreciate it!

I feel you! I’ve been typing for fun but never used my pinkies much either. I started doing short drills with just a few keys at a time. Helps build muscle memory slowly.

practice these pro hand and finger positioning home row. first, keep your index fingers on the home row keys, which have a raised dot (usually \(F\) and \(J\)). Each finger is responsible for a specific set of keys.
now, for the wrist position, keep your wrists up and slightly bent to avoid hitting the keys. Finger movement: Keep your fingers close to the keys and use quick, sharp staccato strokes.

Bang on "sharp staccato strokes." as @Icedt3a wrote. I would add: typ a lot. The more you type, the better you'll become st it
