What started your interest in typewriters?

Hi I'm new here. Just wanted to share that my mom used to tell me stories about typing school assignments on her old typewriter. I finally found one myself and it kinda feels like connecting to her past. Did family stories or traditions spark anyone else’s interest in typewriters?

my interest started the same way. hearing my grandpa talk about the clickclack of his newsroom days
there is something so special about using the same tech our parents used to navigate their world
what kind of typewriter did you find? I’d love to know if it’s the same model your mom used
