Do you actually use your typewriter?

Collectors love typewriters, but many also use them for journaling, letters, or even creative writing.

As for me, when I first started collecting typewriters, I told myself they’d just be display pieces, little bits of history lined up on a shelf. But then one rainy afternoon I sat down with my old Royal Quiet De Luxe, rolled in a sheet of paper, and before I knew it I’d typed out three pages of rambling journal entries. Turns out these machines aren’t just pretty faces, they’re great companions for letters, journaling, and even the occasional burst of creative writing.

Mostly display, but I do break out my Smith‑Corona Classic 12 for journaling. It’s portable and has a nice and this crispy action.
