I have an IBM selectric two, and while I was cleaning it out this spindle fell off from the carriage where the ink ribbon is stored. Not sure if this belongs in this forum, but can anyone tell me how to put it back?
On the IBM Selectric II from IBM, the spindle should snap into a spring-loaded holder. If it fell out, the retaining clip or detent is likely displaced, so inspect alignment points before reinstalling.
