just learned that Remington released the first commercially successful typewriter back in 1873. I stumbled on this fact while researching my flea market find. Makes me wonder, how many of you have early Remingtons in your collection?

Finding a No. 1 at a flea market would be the find of the century! Most of the collectors I know usually start with the Remington Portable No. 1 from the 1920s
It’s famous for those pop up typebars that you have to raise with a lever before you can start typing
Does yours have the folding typebars, or is it one of the massive upright desktop models?
