Whenever I turn on my smith corona sd700, the daisy wheel spins, but then it just makes a super loud grinding noise (brrrrrrr) and won't type
I noticed a small gear behind the carriage wire shifts slightly and then just gives up
I can’t find anything about this specific model online, is it toast?
Does it sound like a stripped gear, a seized motor, or just a really bad jam?
