Recommendations for light-weight road-ready portable

Hello everyone,

I'm a frequent traveler who teaches informal creative writing workshops on the road. U use an Olympia SM3 at home and I prefer to keep it there. It's too much to lug around and I need something reliable, with a great typing feel, and a small footprint for train rides and public spaces. I'll mostly used it for personal writing, class outlines and maybe some quick student exercises. Reliability is key since maintenance isn't easy when I'm constantly moving.

Any recommendations for dependable, easy-to-carry portables? I'm considering the Olympia SF or the Hermes Baby, but I'm open to suggestions!

I’ve tried both and the Hermes Baby is easier to carry, but the Olympia SF feels sturdier and better for longer writing. If you’re typing a lot while traveling, the SF might last longer. Will you be using it more on your lap or at tables? That could help figure out which one works better for you.

The Hermes Baby is legendary for a reason, it’s tiny and looks amazing. but the typing feel is a lot mushier than your Olympia.
if you’re used to the precision of an SM3, you might find the Baby a bit bouncy. it’s the ultimate space saver, though!
