I’m a new member based in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Hermes paradise. I currently own about 20 typewriters, mainly Hermes but also other brands such as Olympia, Erika, Groma… my next project is a 1921 (?) Remington Portable. I’m 57 years old and work as an Operative Theatre Support Worket at a regional hospital. With kind regards from Switzerland !

Hello Oji (and anybody who will read this post, needless to say !), thanks a lot for your kind words ; I live beside the Geneva Lake, where snow has become rather scarce nowadays. Although it’s quite cold, it sometimes feels like a long autumn compared to what we had when I was a child… Now you’re right about typewriters collecting, it’s a bit like peanuts, you can’t stop once you began ! By the way, there’s a Typewriter Museum in Lausanne, and I’m currently learning to be a guide for private groups of visitors. Our curator, Jacques Perrier, is also a typewriter mechanic, and a kinda guru - to me at least. Here’s the link :
