Could someone help me identify this typewriter?

I really loved how if I typed really fast it had to catch up to me, the sound was really satisfying. I'm so glad I have a picture, bad as it is. I want to try to get one but I don't know what the model is.

Looks like you’ve got an electric typewriter there. definitely not a manual, which explains that “catching up” feeling when you typed fast. I used to have a similar mid‑80s electric that behaved the same way. If you can grab a clearer shot of the front badge or the back plate, we can probably pinpoint the exact model.

Thank you so much for your reply. Unfortunately this is the best and only picture I have; the hands in the picture are mine as a kid. I've been attempting to search based on the red circle on the knob, the extra keys on the right, and the soft bag it's stored in. I think I was hoping the red circle was indicative of a brand.

Even a similar model would scratch the itch, honestly. Can you recommend any mid-80s models?

That “catching up” feel points to a daisy wheel electric, not a Selectric, and the red ring on the knob was pretty common on Smith-Corona and Brother machines. Look at Smith-Corona SL470 or SL580, Brother EP-44 or EP-43, and Panasonic KX-R series, all mid-80s and very similar in sound and behavior. Any of those with a soft carry case would scratch the same itch even if it’s not the exact model.
