1965 Olympia SG3

I just picked up a 1965 Olympia SG3 locally and turns out it's got the Modern Congress Elite typeface. I wasn't looking for anything specific, just something clean and easy to read, and this one was perfect for me.

I've had a few other Olympias before but never ran into this typeface. It's sharper than Pica and more readable than Script. Paid around $30 for it, and it's nearly mint. Honestly don't think I'll be chasing down many more machines after this.
 
Wow, great find! That typeface looks fantastic and it's pretty rare to see it on an SG3. Scoring it for just $30 is such a steal! Have you taken a look at the type slugs to see if there are any markings that could help verify it?
 
Thats a pretty decent score. That for just 30 bucks in near-mint shape is a total win, especially with such a clean, readable typeface. Sounds like you might've found your keeper!

Oh ! You should buy another typewriters my friend :) . It's a very enjoyable hobby, I would say. Regardless of the model, when you look at them, you really want to buy them and take them home with you...

Nice score on that Galaxie 12! $40 CAD is practically theft - those are solid machines from Smith-Corona's "we still cared about build quality" era. The Galaxie 12 was their electric workhorse from the mid-70s — nice touch and surprisingly reliable for an electric. Plus it's got that classic avocado green or harvest gold vibe that screams "I was somebody's pride and joy in 1975." LOL

You've got some serious typewriter karma working for you.

Now the real question is: which one of the three has claimed the title of "daily driver," or are you still in the honeymoon phase where you're rotating between them like a kid in a candy store?

My daily drive is my Smith-Corona Galaxie 12 . The others are ( Olympia electric ) and a Commodore manual ... Have a great day my friend..
