I've been looking at a Royal Quiet DeLuxe from Scott's Vintage Typewriter Shoppe in North Carolina. His listings look solid... lots of detail about the refurb process, and he seems to have everything from common Royals to some harder-to-find models. Prices are definitely on the high side though, closer to full-ticket retail.
I don't mind paying extra if the machine is really "done right," but I've also seen people say their purchases still needed tweaks despite the refurb. For those of you who've bought from him: did you feel like the condition justified the cost, or did it feel like you overpaid compared to hunting one down locally?
