To type or not to type?

Hey everyone, I just picked up a rare 1930s Remington that I’ve been dreaming about for years. Now I’m torn. Should I actually use it for writing, or keep it as a display piece to preserve its condition? Part of me wants to try it but I'm worried that I’ll wear it down.

Do you use your rare machines, or keep them strictly for collecting? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

I tend to type on most of my machines, even the rarer ones, but very lightly. The machines were made to be used, so I’d argue a little typing keeps them healthy. Just don’t treat it like a daily workhorse.
