Just found out about the Typewriter Database

just discovered the Typewriter Database and found my machine’s serial number listed! it’s a 1954 Royal Quiet Deluxe! super exciting, but now I’m wondering what else I can learn from the site. Any tips on using it for deeper research or restoration?

When I restored my 1950s Smith-Corona, I used the Database to compare photos of similar machines. It helped me figure out which parts were original and which had been swapped. Really great resource for authenticity checks.

That’s a great find @robturnerr. The photo comparisons and production notes are super useful, especially if you’re checking originality or planning a light restore. It’s easy to lose a few hours on that site once you start digging.
