Extra spaces when typing

Hi everyone, how are your holidays so far? Just wanted to share that I spent part of the holiday break helping a friend diagnose their machine, and sure enough, random spacing. We traced it to a sluggish escapement. If you’ve had this issue, what was the culprit?

For future reference, here are some troubleshooting Ideas:

• Check the escapement wheel for uneven movement.
• Look for old oil that’s turned sticky.
• Make sure the carriage rails are clean and smooth.
